How to get to Ostend?

The train station, which is located in the city centre, is within walking distance of the dike and the shopping streets. Direct trains to Kortrijk, Brussels and Antwerp leave from here. There is also a good service to Lille. You can even get to Paris easily through Brussels (Ostend-Brussels with an IC train / Brussels-Paris by Thalys).

When travelling by car,  take the E40 motorway which connects Brussels with Ostend. The journey from Brussels to Ostend by car or coach takes about one hour.

Where to park?

You cannot park at the entrance of the James Ensor House. The nearest car parks are Indigo Parking Centrum and Parking Kursaal 2, which are just 150 metres from the museum. Both car parks have reserved spaces for people with disabilities.

Accessibility

In a wheelchair? The entire James Ensor House is highly accessible for less mobile visitors. The route is almost identical to that of people without disabilities.

Naturally visitors with visual impairments can also comfortably visit the exhibition. We offer visitors audio guides and iPods as well as several tactile exhibits. Guide dogs are also welcome in the museum.
